Jake Dunn & The Blackbirds
A few weeks back, our teammate Chad reviewed the upcoming album for Jake Dunn & the Blackbirds. Tomorrow night, you can buy their album at the official CD Release Party, in Pomeroy, Ohio (at Court Street Grill).
Our teammate Jessi took a few photos of a recent Jake Dunn & The Blackbirds show, and shared her thoughts on the evening:
“Jake Dunn and the Blackbirds are always full of surprises. The band has an extensive catalog of songs, so their set is never the same, and features a new original song at nearly every show. The December 10th show at The Hut in New Haven, WV was no different.
In fact, they debuted not only a new material, but a new band member as well. Chuck McPeek has joined the line up as a second lead guitar player, alongside Dustin Nash. The two are a great pair, Nash with his heavy rock and roll style solos that push the band towards an edgier sound and McPeek who brings it back to the Americana roots of the band with his twangy country inspired leads.
Round that out with Bobby Wheeler singing harmonies while on the bass, Jesse Forrest anchoring on drums, and Jake’s ability to write songs that are wrapped in realism and heartache and it is just a recipe for a good night of music.”
