A recap of Undercurrent...
Michelle here. I've written and re-written stories about Undercurrent Music Festival for a week and a half, now. I thanked everyone on Facebook for making the whole experience one of the highlights of my life, but it's so hard to fully process what it all meant to me without either gushing or breaking it down into minutiae (Have I mentioned how much I love our album reviewers for being able to walk that line so well?).
While I still feel raw from the intensity of the organizing, planning and fruit-ing (sure, that's a word) such an event, I'm almost constantly thinking as of late about the future possibility of more festivals and shows like this. To be honest, it's been one of the most hopeful and energizing, yet also exhausting, labor-of-love-ing things I've ever had the pleasure to be a part of.
We've heard so many great things about the experiences at Undercurrent, this year, but we know if we choose to move forward, we can't do it alone. To bring something like this back to Parkersburg, we'll need to work with donations and sponsors to make it all happen. If you'd like to be a part of seeing this continue to grow in the Mid-Ohio Valley, you can PayPal funds to firstname.lastname@example.org, or reach out to us on Facebook to learn about our sponsorship wish list.
I'm also donating all of the funds I make from concert photography, documentary photography and portrait photography to the Hold the Note kitty right now, so if you've been wanting photos of something in your life, you can also take pride in knowing you're helping your community while helping yourself. Reach out now to schedule your photography with me.
Thank you tremendously for rooting for home state talent, for loving music, and for being a part of our family.
