Today, the WVSU Capitol Center Theater opens its doors for the first of 7 performances of American Nero. A creation of Mark Scarpeli, Dan Kehde, and Qiet's Christopher Vincent, the score is full of catchy tunes (which also feature backup vocals by another WV musical artist, Holly Forbes from Holly and the Guy).

Set in a modern White House Washington DC, Christopher Vincent plays the role of a rock star turned president (Nero) Great music, drama, romance, and political and power struggles come into play in this 2 act production. Vincent plays his character well and is supported by strong co-stars in Kim Javins (as Nero's mother) and Haley Lambert (as Petra, Nero's mistress), as well as an otherwise well-rounded cast of Daniel Calwell as VP Marshall; Leah Draper as Nero's wife Abigail; Austin Susman as Axel Donavan; Nik Tidquist as Speaker of the House Halford; Matt Connelly as General McCann; Terry Lanham as the Chairman of the DNC; with a supporting cast of twenty five singers and dancers.

Be sure to catch American Nero over the next two weekends. You truly don't want to miss it.

The production is directed by Dan Kehde with musical direction by Mark Scarpelli and choreography by Rob Royce and Siercia O'Brien.
